Days Like This, by Gill Hay, is from the PICK. Coast show, exhibited at NZ artbroker. This current series of paintings relates to Hay's immediate environment of Lyttelton and Banks Peninsula. The views and the infinitely changing expanse of sky and coastline from the windows of her studio are her inspiration. These works are an attempt to capture the majesty and beauty of this iconic environment.

Gill Hay’s work relates to the landscapes of the Port Hills and Lyttelton Harbour, as well as more domesticated scenes, and a fascination with clothing and fabrics.

Gill Hay attended Canterbury University School of Fine Arts in the early 1980s and has been exhibiting widely in New Zealand and overseas for the past 25 years. Hay lives in Lyttelton, where she has a studio in her home, overlooking the inner harbour.
