Owen R Lee 1918 - 2002
Owen Lee was an artist, painter and art teacher. Born in Christchurch, he attended the Canterbury University College School of Fine Arts. Later he competed as well as studied in Brittany, France. He painted many scenes around Banks Peninsula and also produced figure studies and woodcuts. Lee won the Kelliher Art Award and exhibited several times at the Paris Salon. An elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (London, 1962), he taught art at St Peter's School Cambridge, Waitakere High School, Takapuna Grammar, Otago Polytechnic and others.
