Kathryn Carter
Born in Auckland Kathryn Carter graduated in 1987 as an architect from Auckland University School of Architecture. While studying as part of the architecture degree her drawing tutors included Pat Hanly, Claudia Pond Eyley and Kerry Morrow. They inspired Carter to continue draw and to paint and she has done so while also practicing as an architect.
Her paintings have been described as expressionist and are largely inspired by the Northland landscape. She works both with acrylics on paper and oils on canvas and panel.
Carter is a founding member of the Railway Street Gallery and studios.
