Sally Hope
1952 –
Sally Hope has been based in Christchurch since her return from studying in the UK. There she lived in London and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting at Camberwell College of the Arts.
She is best known for her portraiture painting both in oils and watercolours. This work has included many corporate commissions of notable New Zealanders.
Hope is the granddaughter of artist Esther Hope and throughout her life she has spent time at the family high country station, The Grampians, in the MacKenzie country, North Otago. This has been the inspiration of many of her landscape paintings.
