Rob McLeod (1948 –)

Born in Scotland, Rob McLeod immigrated to New Zealand in the 1972. He is a graduate of Glasgow Art School. For many years he has lived in Wellington and taught art at Wellington High School.

His very colourful images are full of know characters from Batman to the Marx Brothers. References are made to contemporary life with other forms and the clothing of his characters. McLeod pays homage to his Scottish heritage through regularly using distorted tartan patterns.
