Douglas Badcock 1922 – 2009
Douglas Badcock was a noted New Zealand landscape painter who lived for many years in Queenstown. He was self-taught and worked in both oils and watercolour.
These two quotes by Badcock explain his approach to art “I need to know everything there is to know about colour, and I paint all day and every day. I paint seas, skies mountains and I paint the world I know as it appears to me”.
