Listing DetailsAlbert Henry Fullwood (1863-1930) Born in Birmingham, UK, Fullwood studied landscape painting and illustration at the Birmingham Institute. He graduated in 1883 and following this immigrated to Australia. He painted but having a young family earned a living as an illustrator for various Australian publications. He increasingly became recognised for his iconic Australian landscapes, with early work brought by the New South Wales Gallery. He also had a successful exhibition in New York enroute back to the UK at the turn of the century. In London he regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy. When war broke out, he joined the Australian forces serving in the medical corps before being appointed as an official war artist to the 5th Division. After the war he returned to live in Australia
