Brian Dahlberg was born in Ashburton, New Zealand in 1944.
He studied art at Nelson College and Wanganui Technical College, before going on to have personal tuition under World War II artist, and map maker to General Freyberg, the late Ted Lewis. During the years 1968 and 69 he was a pupil of the late Dame Louise Henderson, studying figure, portraiture and landscape.
Winner of the inaugural George Harrison Orange Festival Award in 1976
Finalist in the Benson and Hedges Art Award
Winner Macalister Award 1997
He has had many solo exhibitions over the last five decades and is represented in embassies and private collections throughout the world.
Brian lives in Northland with his wife Carol.
