Joanna Braithwaite (1962–)
Joanna Braithwaite (1962) was born in Halifax, England and came to New Zealand in 1965. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Canterbury in 1985. She now lives and works in Sydney, Australia. Braithwaite's work explores an interrelationship between humans and beast, adding anthropomorphic characteristics to her creatures and animals. As an animal lover, her themes delve into genetic science, animal husbandry, social engineering and many layers of human society, past and present.
SoFA Series
The SoFA Print Project was organised by Professor Simon Ogden as a fundraiser in 2004. A portfolio of 24 prints by various artists associated with the Ilam School of Fine Arts was created. The sale of these raised $148,000.

A Complete set of prints was gifted to Victoria and Albert Museum, London, by Professor Simon Ogden.
