Lois McIvor
1930 – 2017
Lois McIvor was a significant figure in the West Auckland arts community. For many years she was a near neighbour of Colin McCahon who had been one of her tutors at Elam School of Fine Arts.
McIvor was a founding member of the Association of Women Artists, part of the Artist Alliance and served on the Titirangi Community Arts Council.
She was predominantly a landscape painter with many works inspired by her surroundings of Manukau Harbour and the Waitakere Ranges.
