Michael Smither (1939-) New Plymouth born artist, Michael Smither studied art in Auckland at the Elam School of Art. This print is a screenprint adapted from an original painting. Smither describes this work:My mother loved blue and white china. The morning I left New Plymouth, to live up North, she gave me a thousand dollars and we shared a farewell cup of tea. Before I left I made a drawing of our cups.
