Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)

Pablo Picasso was one of the most important and influential artists of the 20th century.

‘Jacqueline with Dice’ is an image inspired by Pablo Picasso’s second wife. Jacqueline was known as a risk taker who exuded confidence and who lover to entertain. Picasso has tried to embrace these qualities using his fascination for the abstract figure to create a sense of movement and dynamism in this work. He created this series around 1958. There are several lithographic prints of this image; a colour on black edition, a black with limited palette edition, a white and colour edition and a pink and colour edition. These were numbered, dated and signed by Picasso.

Also produced was this image. This was a limited edition print which included a printed signature. These highly collectable works were used for promotional purposes, the numbers on them refer to this.
