Greer Clayton
Contemporary artist Greer Clayton graduated in 1996 from Elam School of Fine Arts at Auckland University after which she travelled extensively. While abroad she exhibited in Sydney, London and Scotland.
Clayton creates large, timeless, ethereal landscapes. Her obsession with the portrayal of light gives these work an unusual sensitivity. She lives and works from her home in the Hauraki Gulf and the landscapes are inspired by this environment. Clayton creates each work from memory, with the image becoming her abstracted vision rather than an absolute representation.
