French artist Marie-Christine Foucher Poignant style of work is described as contemporary Plastic Art (think Mondrian's simple shapes and primary colours). Her works are a search for a balance between abstracted shapes and strong colours.
Her technique combines the colours and shapes with large white embossed areas that add both simplicity and drama to the works.
Foucher Poignant gained a Diploma in Plastic Expression in 1989. She combines her art practice with teaching architectural students plastic arts and freelance graphic and textile design.
Her husband Francois Poignant is also an artist and they work together on projects.
