Matt Gauldie
1976 –
Multi-disciplinary artist Matt Gauldie lives on the Kapiti Coast, north of Wellington. Over the past twenty years his work has included sculpture, oil painting, print making and illustration.
From 2004 – 2015 he held an official posting as an artist with the New Zealand Army. During this period he travelled to countries were New Zealand service men were deployed including Afghanistan, East Timor and the Solomon Islands and also to historical wars sites from World War I and II. Both paintings and sculpture were created and a major exhibition of this work from ‘Within the Ranks’ was held at Canterbury Museum.
