John Loxton (1903 – 1969)
Australian born John Loxton studied at the National Gallery School, Melbourne and then Swinburne Technical College.
In the 1940s Loxton worked as an art critic for several daily newspapers then travelled and worked in Europe from 1948 to 1950.
Considered one of Australia’s most talented watercolourists, he lived in 6 month intervals between Australia and new Zealand in his later years.
