John Reynolds
1956 –
John Reynolds is a gradate of Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University. He lives and works in Auckland. Over the past 4 decades he has established a reputation as a painter who uses aspects of drawing ( sketches, plans, charts, doodles) along with different types of representation (expressive marks, symbols, patterns, writing ) for poetic expression. His art practice also includes sculpture and out-door installation pieces.
Reynold is the recipient of a Laureate Award from the Arts Foundation of New Zealand. He has also been a finalist for the prestigious Walters Prize. His work is widely held in public galleries throughout New Zealand.
