Michael Dell
Michael Dell was born on Banks Peninsula and graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Canterbury University in 1994. In 1993 he won the Cranleigh Barton National Drawing Award and in 2019 he also won the Parkin Drawing Prize.
Dell is widely recognised for the surface quality of his paintings. His work combines his fascination with nature and the landscape and the different ways of representation and abstraction.
Dell’s work is held in major collections including Christchurch Art Gallery, Auckland University, The Suter Gallery and The Wallace Trust.
