Bev Taylor was born in 1936 in Swindon, England.
Self taught, he began painting in 1971 after a 10 year career in the Royal Navy.
He immigrated to New Zealand in April 1972 with his wife and three children and lived at Kaiwaka, Northland, where he built a studio and Gallery set in several acres of idyllic bush and farmland on which he kept twenty-two varieties of poultry and his pet sheep – Lamby.
