He soon realised that he wanted to be an artist more than an architect and by 1921 he was living in Belgium and was elected a member of the \u003cem\u003eGravure Originale Belge \u003c\/em\u003ein 1925. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJohn Buckland Wright joined the Paris art school \u003cem\u003eL’Atelier 17\u003c\/em\u003e under William Hayter in the early 1930s and commenced a period of great productivity, interacting with some of the most exciting artists of the time, including Miro, Matisse and Picasso.
