Simon Williams
1961 –
Simon Williams was born in Christchurch and spent his childhood in Mosgiel, South Otago.
He completed several years training and working as a Nurseyman/Gardener before heading to London for an extended working holiday. While in Europe he regularly visited galleries and started to dabble in painting.
Williams is a self-taught acrylic and oil painter. On his return from Europe he first lived in Sydney before moving to Auckland in 1994. His paintings are realistic images of New Zealand life, with a particular interest in Auckland harbour scenes.
