Jason Kelly (1971 -)
Jason Kelly grew up in Upper Hutt, in a classic kiwi middle class family. Art and drawing was the thing that occupied his mind as a boy, and became his most enjoyable college subject at St Pats Silverstream and Upper Hutt College.
He was fascinated by fonts, vintage and surfing brands which have combined into his eclectic style. He regards himself as a commercial, yet contemporary artist, crafted as a trained hand signwriter in the late and early 90's.
In 2009 his Sweet As Summer Series was published by Image Vault in Christchurch as a successful print range. In 2015, NZ Post got in touch and together they created Kiwi Kitchen celebrating classic NZ food.
Jason has created these works on recycled wooden panels. These panels do vary in size. They can be hung individually or as a group, in various combinations. With the works is also a sheet of the stamps that were produced from the images, and a promotional tea towel.
Image Dimensions: ~600mm W x ~600mm H each, 18 panels
