Jane Mitchell Taranaki born artist Jane Mitchell now lives and works in Seoul. Her paintings explore imaginative landscapes and aspects of human nature - how our needs and desires affect our environment. Throughout her travels she has photographed old doorways, derelict buildings and precarious structures bearing the marks of time. These photographic images are translated into her works where the details of decaying buildings, ruined walls or worn doorways testify to the presence of mankind and the impressions we leave on a landscape.
