Marilyn Webb ONZM  1937 -2021

Born in Auckland Marilyn Webb was of both Maori; Nga Puhi, and Te Roroa, and European descent. She received an ONZM for her contributions to Maori art as both a practitioner and an educator. Best known as a printmaker and for her pastel drawings, her practice was inspired by contemporary issues including Maori land rights and environmentalism. Webb was very actively critical of the 1970’s Government Think Big economic strategy in her work of that period. Her work is held in many significant collections in New Zealand.
